Creating a Newborn Photography Studio

In 2018, I decided to make photography sessions easier for parents and fulfill a dream of mine since I started my business. I first created The studio at my home, then transitioned to a permanent location downtown Lafayette, La. Ironing our details to create the ultimate stress-free experience and for convenience for moms was achieved. My husband and I renovated the first phase of our house in Crowley, La. to accommodate a photography studio space. Quickly, I realized after having my own babies that having a commercial space would work best for my clients.

I knew we needed plenty of natural light, open space to photograph, and a timeless aesthetic to create the setting for the studio. Clients asked about having a photography studio space, and the timing was finally perfect to create my vision. However, it did take time to complete the project and find the perfect location.

Full-Service Photography

In order to serve my clients well, I knew that Newborn Sessions would need the most attention. I created the following steps for the ease and convenience of this delicate time in life:

  • Securing location in Downtown, Lafayette La in a mixed use building
  • Having an extensive Client Curated Closet to provide wardrobe for all members of the family
  • Having a hair and makeup team on location Joie De Vivre Salon Spa
  • Creating Artwork with the client to display their photography portraits in their home

Choosing the Studio Photographer that’s right for you

When it comes to options for photographers these days, there are many. With 11 years of experience and counting, it is important to feel connected with the person who documents your most precious moments with your newborn. Creating my studio in downtown Lafayette, La was a choice to serve mothers fully. I do a consultation call before the booking process to see if we are a good fit. I go over my entire photography experience and invite the mothers to come into the studio to meet me and view my photography products.
