Professional Photographers Headshots | Jungle Gardens – New Iberia

I always stress to my clients why it is so important to take photographs with your loved ones. I let them know, I also take photos bi-anually! I decided early on in my business that it is awesome for your clients to see who is behind the camera. I have made it a tradition to take photographs at lease twice a year: One of them is usually refreshed professional headshots of myself, the other is a combination of photographs with my husband and some individual poses of myself. I am thankful to my sweet friend and colleague, Laura Caraway, for taking our photographs this year. She did a phenomenal job.

I hear of all of the complaints when booking a photography session: I don’t feel good about my weight, I have nothing to wear, my husband doesn’t like to take photos, my kids always act up,  I can’t fit it in my schedule. I have heard it all, and I want to let you know I go through all of these things too. I love taking photographs, and admittedly, I like being behind the lens as well but I worry so much. It is important for me to work with other professional photographers. I get to know their processes, we can discuss our triumphs and struggles, and we also learn from one another. By taking my own photos, it helps me relate to my own clients. You are not alone, so get out there and get some pretty images!

Putting together the outfit selection is one of my favorite things to do for my sessions. I now have a Curated Closet of over 100 dresses for moms to choose from, in addition to many baby/child options. For my organic airy style, I stick to a lighter color pallet. Whites, blush, light blue or gray usually photographs best in my opinion. However, as much as I love this style, you are paying for your session, and you are welcome to wear whatever your heart desires. I love wearing black, however the harshness of the tone against the lighter background, does not render well to me in photographs. I do not do much props, but I do love the hat from Club Monoco. In addition to the Curated Closet, I do have an amazing friend who owns Stylish Staples. She will dress your entire family from head to toe according to your likes. I do think wardrobe is one crucial factor to the success of the outcome of session, so never hesitate to reach out to me for help.
